It was all hands on deck for the Think Digital team as we hit the road for Verdun to inspire the next generation of agricultural immersive content creators at Hills Christian Community School.
Students had a break from the classroom to engage in immersive learning that encompassed gardening, cooking, 360 cameras, virtual tours, production skills, and virtual reality.
“Think Digital is pioneering new ground and has such an incredible team!!”
Colleen O’Rourke, Digital Technologies Coordinator, Hills Christian Community School
The year 6s had a blast planting and harvesting carrots from the kitchen garden. They prepared their fresh produce in the school kitchen and cooked up some delicious carrot fritters. After this, they hopped on board the Think Digital Coach and travelled to a South Australian carrot farm in virtual reality! Here, they learned about how veggies are planted, grown, harvested, sorted, and sent off!
The year 10s received an immersive content creation workshop from Tim. They were introduced to high-level InstaPro2 360 cameras, and learned how to direct and shoot their own Virtual Tours. The year 10s at HCCS are creating Virtual Tours as part of their curriculum learning, so hopefully Think Digital has helped them to achieve A+’s for their upcoming assessments!
Following Tim’s workshop, the year 10s also had the opportunity to hop on board and experience virtual reality for themselves. This was the perfect way to demonstrate the potential end products that could result from the skills they learned in the workshop. On board the bus, they also received further mentorship from Tim on how to produce 360 content.
Think Digital would like to give a massive thank you to Hills Christian Community School and Colleen O’Rourke for their enthusiasm and efforts towards making this event happen.
