Immersive Storytelling Inspiration
“Story living” was a concept I heard at AWE 2024 and I believe this to be so true. 360 videography immersive storytelling is such a new and exciting storytelling medium. I would say it is the favourite part of my job.
Photos and Films in Immersive Experiences
This was extremely interesting, with the focus on how we can integrate traditional Rectilinear footage into Virtual Reality. I purchased JFK Memento (on Quest 3) and considering looking a 180 lenses for our DLSR camera. What I have enjoyed is the experimenting with Spatial 2D video on my iPhone 15 Pro and watching in my Quest 3.
Silver Butterfly Inspiration
So for those that know me, I can’t help but follow a couple of butterflies to see where you end up. That’s how we evolve, get inspired right? This time, the silver butterflies that caught my attention were AI Avatars and Virtual Immortality
Virtual Immortality
Enjoyed listening to Gregory Peter Panos Virtual Immortality in XR: History, Present & Future Evolution. When I get the time (hopefully before I die) I will invest some time in this one, Gregory provided some greats links to explore. It’s interesting, controversial and futuristic – all things that I get a little excited about.
“Virtual immortality refers to the idea of preserving one’s physical identity, expressions, memories, and experiences in a virtual form, allowing for continued existence beyond physical death” Gregory Peter Panos
This concept raises questions about the nature of existence, identity, consciousness and one’s human experience while alive and intention(s) beyond their time alive with regard to their self and others” Gregory Peter Panos
So, what might be the benefits of achieving this goal ?
- Potential for reunification with loved ones
- Ancestral history education and connection
- Interaction with future family generations
- Preservation of knowledge and experiences
AI Avatar & AI Models
Ramblr – Leveraging AI and the Power of LLMs to Teach XR to See the World as Humans Do
Participating in the Roundtable with University students, was great to get to the coal face. In fact I met at XR student named Jack, who is AI model “Prompt Engineer”. He approached me with his “printed” CV and I was quite taken by his initiative, so much so I connected with him after AWE and have provided him the opportunity him to come onboard as a contractor.
