Stage 2 of the NB2 Indigenous Program is underway! Tim and Kat journeyed from Adelaide north to Normanton to spend time on Delta for the most recent workshop to hear from the group about the immersive biosecurity tool they would like to have developed for the next phase of the project.
In phase one we developed a biosecurity tool to allow for peer to peer learning on country about best practice biosecurity measures, as well as a teaching tool for how to take tissue samples during a necropsy – essential training for remote cattle station workers, who may not have access to a vet to undertake this work.
For this stage of the project work is well underway for a Cattle EAD AR biosecurity tool, an essential training experience for our northern frontline workers to help them identify diseases such as foot and mouth and lumpy skin. Set to be released in the coming months, this tool will form part of a suite of engaging training outputs being created through this fantastic program.
As well as the chance to reconnect with old friends and meet some new, highlights from Delta include seeing Uber Eats of the Outback – mudcrab being delivered by helicopter as well as the chance to visit some of the most beautiful outback cattle country right at the end of a big wet season.
